You trust them. They know you better than anybody. Maybe they’re great with money, systems, organization, or business in general, and they genuinely want to help.
But knowing YOU really well does not automatically mean they understand your business.
In this episode, Chandra and I are talking about what can happen when a spouse steps into a salon or spa without really understanding the economics and weird little details that make our industry work.
We’re getting into commission structures that look completely insane to someone from the outside, schedules that are a whole lot more complicated than a few empty spaces on a calendar, what happens when your spouse suddenly starts managing the team, and how quickly “they’re just helping me with a few things” can turn into nobody knowing who is actually in charge of what.
And then there’s the part nobody really thinks about until they’re living it: you still have to go home together.
We’re talking about roles, decision-making authority, team trust, business boundaries at home, and the things you need to figure out BEFORE you hand over all the passwords and accidentally turn every dinner into a staff meeting.
